How do I bid? Start here

Introduction

First released in 1994 as Lange & Söhne's prototypical dress watch, the Saxonia has had an undeniable air of elegance, sophistication, and stunning design baked into its aesthetic since it first made its way onto the wrists of watch collectors. Since then, the collection has evolved to include some of the most stunning dress watches around, much like the ref. 330.026 that we have here. Crafted from 18k white gold and featuring a stunning symmetrical silver dial with Lange & Söhne's signature outsize date complication along with the rest of its Annual Calendar indicators such as the day and month and moonphase, the Saxonia is a refined design of utter elegance and decorum. Sporting an exhibition caseback, the Saxonia ref. 330.026 proudly displays its immaculately finished automatic movement – perhaps one of Lange's most esteemed features. Considered to be one of the ultimate dress watches, it doesn't take too long to figure out why collectors hold Lange & Söhne to such high regard - their watches are simply incredible.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

With its monochromatic silver dial, the Saxonia's blued steel hands and black inscriptions for its outsize date, day, and month functions are perfectly legible as they pop against the backdrop and remain easy to read at a glance.

THE MOVEMENT
THE MOVEMENT

Powering the Saxonia Annual Calendar is Lange's cal. L085.1 movement. With its immaculate German silver baseplates (which are broken up by the off-center winding rotor), hand-engraved balance cock and incredible blend of finishing techniques, it is no surprise watch collectors love the Glashutte giants as much as they do.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT

This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.

Condition

The watch is in overall excellent condition. The white gold case has some light surface marks and a couple of light nicks on the polished bezel. The display case back has well-defined engravings and hallmarks around the edge. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a black Lange alligator strap with a white gold buckle, both in excellent condition. The watch comes with archival papers attesting to the origin of the watch.

Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.

Our Perspective

Regarded just as highly as the Holy Trinity in terms of quality, attention to detail and overall horological excellence, it is only a matter of time before the wider watchmaking community begins to see the actual value Lange & Söhne and their offerings represent, especially these pre-owned complicated offerings that are a fraction of the cost of their new counterparts.
