Introduction
First released in 1994 as Lange & Söhne's prototypical dress watch, the Saxonia has had an undeniable air of elegance, sophistication, and stunning design baked into its aesthetic since it first made its way onto the wrists of watch collectors. Since then, the collection has evolved to include some of the most stunning dress watches around, much like the ref. 105.027 that we have here. Offered between the short period of just 1997 and 2002, the ref. 105.027 comes crafted from 18k white gold and features a stunning symmetrical dark blue dial with Lange & Söhne's signature outsize date complication and a small seconds subdial to boot, making it a truly refined design of utter elegance and decorum. Sporting an exhibition caseback, the Saxonia ref. 105.027 proudly displays its immaculately finished manual-wind movement – perhaps one of Lange's most esteemed features. Considered to be one of the ultimate dress watches, it doesn't take too long to figure out why collectors hold Lange & Söhne to such high regard - their watches are simply incredible.

THE DIAL
With its dark blue dial, the Saxonia's white gold hands and large outsize date are perfectly legible as they pop against the dark backdrop and remain easy to read at a glance.

THE MOVEMENT
Powering the Saxonia is Lange's cal. L941.3 movement. With its immaculate 3/4 German silver baseplate, hand-engraved balance cock and incredible blend of finishing techniques, it is no surprise watch collectors love the Glashutte giants as much as they do.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. The case shows light signs of wear. There are scratches and marks visible on the surfaces and edges, including scratches and hairlines along the bezel, and commensurate wear along the lugs. Blue dial in near-mint condition, with little to no signs of wear or aging. Watch comes with original strap and 18k WG tang buckle. Please note: The watch winds and ticks at time of cataloging, but the timing machine readout is poor and a service is recommended.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Regarded just as highly as the Holy Trinity in terms of quality, attention to detail and overall horological excellence, it is only a matter of time before the wider watchmaking community begins to see the actual value Lange & Söhne and their offerings represent. This "Neo-Vintage" Lange Saxonia has increasingly become coveted by collectors for its Teutonic good looks and perfect size and proportions.
