Introduction
Famed for the signature design that almost all of his watches share, French architect and designer turned watchmaker Alain Silberstein’s timepieces have become increasingly sought-after thanks to their whimsical handsets, colorful designs, and the plethora of complications they often-times feature. By utilizing shapes and colors never seen before in watchmaking, Alain’s design philosophy quickly caught on as collectors saw the value in a unique design language removed from the traditionally conservative styling used by the vast majority of watchmakers. As a result, the Krono Bauhaus is a joyful piece of colorful watchmaking exuberance. Its mechanical complexity works wonderfully to provide an outlet through which it can use a variety of colors and shapes on its dial and handset. Powered by the Lemania cal. LMC 5100, the Krono Bauhaus is a chronograph timepiece that also displays the day and date at 3 o’clock. With Alain’s signature 15mm tall by 40mm wide circular case profile blending its black aesthetic with its eccentrically colored pushers and crown, the Bauhaus’ entire design is cohesive and complete as its construction and dial match in color scheme and aesthetic - not something that can be said for most watch cases and dials.

Our Perspective
While playful in its design, the Krono Bauhaus is anything but your traditional Bauhaus-inspired timepiece with its whacky display and complex design ensuring that it packs a stylistic punch of individuality.
