Introduction
An architect and designer by trade, it is no surprise that Alain Silberstein’s timepieces feature some of the most unique aesthetic choices you'll see through the use of bright colors, odd geometric shapes, and distinctive artistry. Founded in 1987, Alain Silberstein represents the less serious side of watchmaking without sacrificing quality, craftsmanship, or attention to detail – tenants of modern fine horology. With the brand no longer producing watches of their own, Alain Silberstein’s influence on the industry is now represented through collaborations or discontinued pieces like the Marine GMT that we have here. Featuring the hours, minutes, seconds, and a GMT function within its 34mm stainless steel case, the “Marine GMT” is a timepiece that is packed full with functional complications that contrast its playful design in such a way that highlights the brand’s overarching desire to appeal to watchmaking’s most important tenants, and not get too lost in an otherwise fun contemporary design.

THE DIAL
Boasting a bright silver dial with all of the clues that point to Alain Silberstein's design language, such as its bright miscellaneaously-shaped hands, the Marine GMT is an undeniably playful watch.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Offered in a perfectly circular 34mm stainless steel case with straight cylindrical lugs, the Marine GMT showcases Alain Silberstein's signature design DNA, whereby the brand's chunky timepieces boast a very unique presence on the wrist.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall very good condition. The steel case has some light surface marks, as does the display case back, which retains well-defined engravings along the edge. The bezel shows scratches and light marks, but the enamel paint and lume remain in very good condition. The dial is excellent with only minor marks, and the distinctive colored hands are all clean. The steel bracelet has light play between the links and surface scratches on the clasp. The bracelet currently fits a 6 1/2” wrist, and is fitted with 12 links, 5 additional links are included.
Our Perspective
A rich blend of intriguing design and functional complications, Alain Silberstein's timepieces meet the needs of its wearers while also injecting their collection with something unique and unusual.
