Introduction
Debuting in 1953 and released to the public the following year, the Rolex Submariner has undoubtedly become one of the most iconic timepieces of all time thanks to its legendary status as Rolex's flagship dive watch. Used extensively by the British Royal Navy and professional diving operations like COMEX, the Submariner set the bar for all dive watches to follow. Featuring a genuinely timeless design that has remained relatively unchanged throughout its history, this Rolex has become the archetypal sports watch. With very few large-scale aesthetic upgrades made to it over the years except for timely advancements like introducing a date function to the collection in the late '60s, and its modern cerachrom bezels, the Submariner is seen as the prototypical dive watch thanks to its consistency. The Submariner has earned its status as a legendary watch, with it today remaining as one of the most sought-after timepieces around.
Launched in 2012 as a limited edition run of 25 pieces is this special edition Rolex Submariner ref. 116610LN. Created as a result of a collaboration between one of the world’s leading watch customizers, the Bamford Watch Department, and arguably one of the UK’s most famous jewelers, Asprey is this rather unique take on the iconic Submariner. Combining both brands' signature colors, the Submariner sports Bamford’s signature black PVD finish across its entire case and bracelet in conjunction with the use of Asprey purple across its hour markers, hands, and bezel inscriptions. With a customized numbered caseback marking the two brands’ collaboration and a white inscription on its dial to celebrate Asprey, this wonderful watch stands as a fantastically unique piece of horological design that has pushed the Submariner to an aesthetic that the famed timepiece has never gone.

A unique take on the Submariner, this Bamford x Asprey collaboration has resulted in a rather fashionable timepiece that looks unlike anything else on the market, let alone a stock timepiece from Rolex.
