Now famed for their iconic sports watches, Audemars Piguet’s history as a classical watchmaker is often wrongfully overlooked, with timepieces like the Day-Date Moonphase ref. 25589BA that we have here standing as a wonderful testament to that very fact. Featuring an elegant stepped 18kt gold case with a white enamel dial featuring black Roman numerals and recessed subdials with elegant blued steel hands that contrast their white backdrop, this automatic timepiece is a timeless classic. Measuring a wonderfully wearable 33mm in diameter and sitting beautifully flat on the wrist, the ref. 25589 wears splendidly, as one would hope for a dress watch from the 80s. While the ref. 25589 was typically offered on a leather strap, this example features an intricately constructed 7-piece 18kt yellow gold integrated bracelet that elevates the timepiece's entire aesthetic to the next level of luxury and adds a substantial amount of presence to its construction, thus giving it a much heftier presence on the wrist than its leather counterparts.

Watch is offered in excellent overall condition and features some surface scratches across its case alongside some very small deeper scratches. A warm patina has developed on the case and bracelet and the dial is in excellent condition and shows little to no wear. The watch will fit a wrist approximately 6 3/4 inches in diameter and the bracelet is not removable. Watch comes with original guarantee papers that are blank and not filled out.
