Introduction
While Audemars Piguet might be best known for their avant-garde timepieces like the Royal Oak and its slew of descendants, AP also boast a rich history in creating some of the most elegant and stylish dress watches, like the Edward Piguet. Launched in the early 1990s and named after one of the brand’s two co-founders, the Edward Piguet was introduced as an elegant rectangular dress watch that gave AP an entryway into the dress watch category while also providing them with a vehicle to create some incredible complicated timepieces, much like the perpetual calendars and minute repeaters that they once produced. However, offered here we have the most understated variant of the Edward Piguet collection, the ref. 14918 in 18kt white gold. Boasting a silver dial and housing only one complication in the form of its running subseconds at 6 o’clock, this timepiece’s monochromatic display is the epitome of understated elegance, just like its rectangular 18kt white gold construction. Featuring a mix of applied indices that are punctuated by numerals for the even hours, this Edward Piguet retains an uninterrupted dial that is entirely legible and undisturbed with frivolous material.

Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. Case has minor case-wear and scratches visbile, but serial number and hallmarks on back of case are crisp and clean. Watch comes on a used AP strap with a generic steel buckle.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
A traditional dress watch that breaks away from AP's avant-garde design language, the Edward Piguet demonstrates that AP can tone down their angular octagon-inspired aesthetic to create something beautiful, understated, and effortlessly elegant quite easily when they want to.
