Introduction

Representing AP’s very roots as a traditional watchmaker, the Jules Audemars collection has often been AP’s vehicle to demonstrate their innovative talents as one of horology’s best watchmakers. Launched in 1991, the Jules Audemars Tourbillon, for example, was the world’s first automatic tourbillon wristwatch. While that was certainly an impressive feat, it wasn’t enough for AP and so they even fitted the ref. 26084OR with a luxurious construction that sets it apart from the crowd in more ways than one. Featuring a stunning mother of pearl dial, the ref. 26084OR’s display features a large tourbillon aperture with well-executed guilloche patterns throughout, applied Roman numerals and diamond-set markers along the outermost chapter ring. Housed within a perfectly symmetrical 39mm 18kt rose gold case with a diamond-set bezel and a diamond-set winding crown, the ref. 26084OR is luxury and high-end watchmaking combined into one seriously extravagant timepiece.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

Fit with a guilloche-engraved mother-of-pearl dial with applied Roman numerals, diamond-set hour markers and a massive tourbillon aperture, the ref. 26084OR's display is thoroughly impressive, and the diamonds that surround its bezel make it all the more luxurious.

THE MOVEMENT
THE MOVEMENT

Powered by the manual-wind cal. 2906, the ref. 26084OR is as technically astute as it is luxurious. With its large tourbillon and hand-engraved bridges on display through its exhibition caseback, the cal. 2096 makes this watch as beautiful from the back as it is from the front.

Condition

The watch is in overall excellent condition. The gold case has light surface marks and scratches. The display case back has crisp engravings and hallmarks around the edge, with some scratches. The diamond-set bezel is excellent, with light surface scuffs. The diamond-set hours guilloché dial is near-mint, and the hands are very clean. It is fitted with a white alligator Audemars Piguet strap with a diamond-set gold deployant clasp in excellent condition. There are some minor glue stains visible on the edge of the strap.

Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.

Our Perspective

A technically impressive timepiece when it was first launched, and still to this day, the Jules Audemars Tourbillon reinforced AP's high-watchmaking prowess with its incredible complications and well-executed construction.
