Introduction
Released in 1972 and designed by Gerald Genta, watchmaking's most famous designer, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was the first stainless steel luxury sports watch ever to exist. Released as a tactic to survive the quartz crisis, the Royal Oak can single-handedly be thanked for AP's existence today due to its astounding success, albeit it wasn't an overnight hit. Its sizeable tonneau-shaped case, signature integrated bracelet, octagonal bezel, exposed screws, and steel construction failed to win over collectors until a few years later. Today, the Royal Oak is one of the most highly-coveted timepieces in all horology as its previously dismissed design details have permeated across the industry and into watches like the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Vacheron Constantin Overseas, Rolex Oysterquartz, amongst many other legendary timepieces. Launched as a Ladies’ version of the Royal Oak, the ref. 67600ST.OO.1210ST.01that we have here remains faithful to the original release’s aesthetic with a robust yet downsized 33mm stainless steel case and the Royal Oak’s iconic integrated bracelet. Featuring a bright silver dial, the ref. 67600ST is a time and date-only watch, but notably lacks the Royal Oak’s signature "Petite Tapisserie” pattern, with a wavy texture engraved instead. Additionally, it also features unique oval-shaped applied indices and hands, completing what is a smaller and distinctive take on the Royal Oak’s iconic form.

THE DIAL
Differentiated from its masculine counterparts, the ref. 67600ST features a silver dial with a wavy texture instead of the collection's signature tappiserie pattern, giving it a unique stylistic twist.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Boasting a 33mm stainless steel construction, the ref. 67600ST is notably smaller than the original Royal Oak's 39mm dimensions, but with its integrated bracelet, it still wears much larger than its diameter suggests, making it a perfect size for those who like their watches to be a little bit on the smaller side.

THE PROFILE
Thanks to its quartz movement, this example maintains the Royal Oak's thin and angular case, ensuring it protects the design's iconic lines and sharp corners.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows surface scratches and small nicks, while the case back retains well-defined engravings and the central relief medallion, with some wear visible to the screw heads. The bezel shows surface scratches and scuffs. The dial and hands remain excellent, with minor discoloration visible to the lume in the hour markers. It is fitted with a steel bracelet showing surface scratches and light play between the links. The bracelet is fitted with 17 links, 2 of which are removable, and fits approximately a 6” wrist.
Our Perspective
A feminine take on one of watchmaking's most iconic models, this example's construction, beautiful silver wave dial, and comfortable fit on the wrist have set it up nicely as a fantastic timepiece for a lady to enjoy, or a man who wants to enjoy a Royal Oak that's easier to wear than the larger variants.
