Introduction

Famed for their aggressively avant-garde take on design and aesthetics, Audemars Piguet has long been known to blend aspects of their history with their own take on horology. As a result, timepieces that feature both - period-defining designs and aspects of AP’s historical DNA can be produced, just like this ref. 4108 example. Featuring an elongated oval-shaped case, this 18kt yellow gold timepiece is both luxurious and aesthetically unique. Boasting a champagne co-signed Tiffany & Co.-stamped dial with a speckled finish and an intricately-designed twisted rope-style bezel and woven mesh integrated bracelet; this timepiece blends AP’s love of opulence with their desire to celebrate their unique designs. Powered by a wonderfully thin manual-wind movement, this timepiece ensures that AP’s clientele could enjoy AP’s high level of horology within a timepiece that features a delicate construction that breaks away from the conventional design of the time, such as that reflected in traditional dress watches. With a beautifully intricate and opulent sense of design achieved through its immaculately woven bracelet and beautiful champagne co-signed dial, this timepiece will make a wonderful addition to any collection.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT

This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.

Condition

The watch is in overall excellent condition. The yellow gold case is well defined, with scratches and small marks as expected for a watch of this vintage. The case back has light scratches around the edge and features a very crisp hallmark and clear stamps. The cabochon-topped crown is in excellent condition. The gold dial shows some surface tarnishing but retains crisp text and clean gold hands. The integrated mesh bracelet has light scratches and an Audemars Piguet-signed clasp in excellent condition. The bracelet fits an approximately 7½” wrist. Please note that the watch ticks at time of cataloging, but timekeeping is poor and a service is recommended.

Our Perspective

Combining a unique construction with a distinctive speckled dial that also bears the co-signature of one of the most desirable watch and jewellery retailers of all time, this ref. 4108 is a special example indeed.
