Introduction
Released three years after the original Royal Oak Offshore “Beast” was released in 1996, Audemars Piguet launched the new Royal Oak Offshore “Tropical Beast” with eight new variants that featured a new colorful aesthetic and distinctively altered cases. While still the same sports-oriented timepiece, the Tropical collection ranged from deep blue and yellow to red and purple and a selection of other wonderful colors that livened up the collection’s tool watch focus and turned the watch into a vibrant statement piece. Additionally, with the Offshore now sitting on a leather strap for the very first time, Audemars Piguet reverted from the Royal Oak's signature double plot lugs to hinge lugs that enable the leather strap to hang straight down from the watch. A sporty watch made colorful and fun in a time when AP wasn’t exactly known for such a thing; this is a rare beast indeed!

THE DIAL
The brightest of the collection, this Tropical variant features the sunshine yellow dial with AP's signature "Petite Tapisserie" guilloche engraving and a trio of black subdial registers that provide a dark background for the white inscriptions that sit on top of them.
THE CONSTRUCTION
A hefty watch with significant wrist presence, the Offshore 'Tropical' collection maintains the Beast's large robust design making it a great timepiece for someone that prefers to feel their watch on their wrist.

Condition
Watch is in very good overall condition. Case has a few visible surface scratches, but is generally free of major marks or dings. Watch has soft edges along the bezel and case due to previous polishing. Dial in excellent condition with little to no signs of aging. Watch comes with original yellow strap and deployant buckle.
