Introduction
Debuting in 1993, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore was launched as an even sportier version of their legendary Royal Oak. With its beefier construction, chronograph, tachymeter dial, and larger hour hands and indices to accommodate more luminescent material, the Offshore pioneered the idea of what a truly capable luxury sports watch could be. Having sponsored the world-famous Alinghi sailing team for most of the 2000s, Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Polaris in 2005 to celebrate Alinghi’s 2003 Challenge Cup victory. Providing an exploded view of the Royal Oak Offshore’s construction, this lucite paperweight enables the viewer to enjoy the Royal Oak Offshore’s case in a detailed manner that is typically saved for watchmakers working on the watch.
