Introduction
Famed for their aggressively avant-garde take on design and aesthetics, Audemars Piguet has long been known to blend aspects of their history with their own take on horology. As a result, timepieces that feature both period-defining designs and aspects of AP’s historical DNA can be produced, just like this ref. 4232BA that we have here. Featuring a 34mm round 18kt yellow gold case with a stepped bezel and a skeletonized dial, this timepiece blends AP’s love of opulence with their desire to celebrate their unique designs. Powered by a thin openworked automatic movement, this timepiece ensures that AP’s clientele could enjoy AP’s high level of craftsmanship without having to compromise on the fit and finish of the watch. With its beautifully intricate construction and opulent sense of design this example’s various parts combine to create a timepiece with a unique aesthetic that jumps off the wrist and packs a serious punch of style that other leather-strapped dress watches would fail to emulate, making it thoroughly unique.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Offering an opulent sense of design within a relatively compact package, the ref. 4232BA's 34mm 18kt yellow gold case, with its stepped bezel, serves as the perfect balance for its elaborate skeletonized dial and movement.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The yellow gold case is well defined, with light surface scratches. The hallmarks on the case side are crisp and fully legible, and the case back band features sharp engravings and a hand scratched number (possibly a stock number or service mark). The hands are atypical for this model and may have been replaced at some point. They have some missing black paint on the surface. The winding crown features a blue cabochon and is not original to the watch. The watch is fitted with a black crocodile strap and a gold AP-signed buckle, both in very good condition. Comes with a green Audemars Piguet watch pouch.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Aesthetically avant-garde and stylistically unique, this ref. 4232BA is a wonderful reminder of AP's skill and craftsmanship as one of horology's most revered watchmaking houses.
