A timepiece existing beyond Audemars Piguet's typical design language, this ref. 5369 is an eccentric piece of classic 1960's styling, with its unique tonneau-shaped stainless steel “TV-screen” case and beautiful silver dial complete with applied indices. Powered by the exceedingly rare A.P. cal. 2002 movement, this ref. 5369 is believed to be part of 200 or so pieces fitted with this hard-to-find manual-wind caliber. The watch has a dial that has been refinished at some point in its past.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Shaped a bit like a TV-screen, the ref. 5369's tonneau-shaped stainless steel case has become an iconic piece of AP's 1960's design language with its entirely brushed construction featuring small polished bevels that highlight its stunning lines.

Condition
Watch is in overall good condition. There is some pitting visible on the case top and caseback as shown in the images. The refinished dial is aged and has some spotting and damage, notably around the 3 o'clock index. Watch comes on a suede AP signed strap with a Wenger style buckle.
Our Perspective
With its generous size and elegant 70's aesthetic, the ref. 5369 is a true gem that expands upon AP's design language, which has since become dominated by octagonal timepieces.
