Following the opening of Dubai-based retailer Perpétuel in 2020 with its first limited-edition collaboration, a pair of watches from Baltic, the duo have decided to collaborate on another limited-edition trio of timepieces to mark UAE's 50th anniversary; the aptly named UAE 50th Anniversary Titanium Collection. As its name suggests, the timepieces offered as part of the release are constructed from titanium, which marks the first time the vintage-inspired watchmaker has ventured outside of stainless steel. Using two different cases, one 38mm and the other 39mm, Baltic has created a GMT timepiece, using the 39mm case, a Bicompax Chronograph model, and a time-only HMS model – both using the 38mm, of which we have the Bicompax Chronograph model here. Maintaining Baltic’s use of vintage-inspired aesthetics, the Bicompax Chronograph features a hesalite crystal and a vintage-inspired two-tone sector dial using black and copper alongside an array of finishing techniques such as concentric guilloche engravings and brushed finishes. In addition, the Bicompax Chronograph uses Eastern-Arabic script for its hour markers, which is a tasteful and fitting tribute to Perpétuel’s home. Showcasing the incredible talents found within the French watchmaker’s design team, this beautiful timepiece is limited to just 71 pieces and offered in unworn condition with its full set, as it was originally sold with.

The watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case has very light signs of wear, with some wear and marks visible on the case back. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a DeLugs strap in near-mint condition. The watch comes with its inner and outer boxes and warranty.

Featuring consistent design language throughout, the Baltic x Pérpetuel Bicompax's UAE design influence can be seen through its use of Eastern-Arabic and a gilt chapter ring dial filled with black lacquer that is tastefully luxurious.
