Following the opening of Dubai-based retailer Perpétuel in 2020, Baltic collaborated with Perpétuel to debut a pair of limited-edition timepieces that paid homage to Perpétuel’s Arabic identity and Baltic’s flair for vintage-inspired aesthetics. Expanding on that collaborative history in 2022, Baltic and Perpétuel decided to launch another limited edition collaboration of just 300 pieces with the MR01 Perpétuel that we have here. A twist on Baltic’s best-selling micro-rotor MR01, the MR01 Perpétuel features the model’s beloved 36mm stainless steel case, but its dial is what makes it truly special. Featuring a multi-textured two-tone green dial, the MR01 Perpétuel was unique within its category as an affordable retro-inspired timepiece due to its use of applied Eastern-Arabic numerals. Typically speaking, they are only found in high-end watches far outside of Baltic’s retail price range, much less retro-inspired designs. This daring use of Easter-Arabic numerals allows the MR01 Perpétuel to pay a fitting homage to Perpétuel’s Arabic heritage. A wonderful tribute to horology, these stunning timepieces showcase the incredible talents found within the French watchmaker’s design team, and the beautiful creations that retailers and brands can produce when they collaborate as a unified team.

An aesthetically unique timepiece that is fittingly rare, this 300-piece collection is a fine example of what can be achieved in watchmaking through smart collaboration, even when affordability is not sacrificed.
