The 5513 was produced from 1962 to 1988, and was the non-chronometer version of the non-date Submariner. There were a multitude of dial variants made over those 26 years, ranging from gilt chapter ring dials in the beginning to matte dials, then ultimately the glossy dials with white gold luminous surrounds.

Customized by Black Limited Edition in the early 2010s within a limited run of 50 pieces, this example's all-original construction is entirely blacked out using a Diamond-Like Carbon coating that is extremely robust. Composed of a thin layer of carbon that is applied to the surface of the metal, DLC coatings are famously scratch-resistant due to their diamond-like hardness, as their name suggests.
