Introduction
Famed as horology’s oldest watchmakers, Blancpain’s reputation is that of unbridled craftsmanship, quality and luxury. With an eye for impeccable design, their timepieces have sat on the wrists of some of history’s most influential people. Standing as a marker of the brand’s success over the centuries, the Villeret collection pays homage to Blancpain’s heritage as it is named after the brand’s birthplace. Launched in 1989, Blancpain’s manual-wind cal. 23 movement was perhaps one of the most impressive of the time with it being the first flying tourbillon. In addition to that, it also featured a pointer date and a power reserve indicator for its lengthy 8-day power reserve and fit within the ref. 0023-1418-55’s compact 34mm x 7.4mm 18kt yellow gold case. Boasting traditional details like its white dial, stepped bezel and stunning combination of brushed and polished surfaces, this limited edition watch of only 99 pieces is a wonderful reminder of Blancpain’s place as one of horology’s keystone brands.
