Founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet, one of horology’s most famed watchmakers, Breguet is a brand rooted in classical horological excellence. With such innovations as the tourbillon, the Breguet overcoil and their eponymous ‘Breguet’ hands and even numerals among their impressive list of accolades, Breguet are widely renowned as one of the most influential and important watchmakers in the industry. With a truly remarkable history, Breguet’s timepieces often hark back to the classical period of watchmaking through a traditional aesthetic, and this Classique ref. 3290, as its name suggests, is no different. Measuring a svelte 33mm, its perfectly round 18kt white gold case features a polished domed bezel that swoops down to the midcase where it overhangs a coin-edge texture. Matching this level of exuberant detail, the Classique’s stunning silver dial also features a beautiful blend of textures with a hobnail engraving in its center, concentrically-brushed chapter rings and a wave pattern within its seconds subdial. An elegantly styled timepiece, the Classique is undoubtedly Breguet at their finest.

Watch is in excellent overall condition. Case shows light surface wear, with various superficial scratches and marks visible. The original guilloche dial show some signs of aging on the surface, with some oxidation on the guilloche surface, located primarily along the periphery. There is a small stain/area of discoloration on the dial to the right of the center post. It can be seen in the image as an orange brown spot. The watch comes on a third party strap and is fitted with its original 18k wg buckle.

One of the famed French watchmaker's most refined and elegant timepieces, the Classique is vividly Breguet in just about every way possible, and it is hard not to see the appeal of its luxuriously understated aesthetic.
