Introduction
Founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet, one of horology’s most famed watchmakers, Breguet is a brand rooted in classical horological excellence. With such innovations as the tourbillon, the Breguet overcoil and their eponymous ‘Breguet’ hands and even numerals among their impressive list of accolades, Breguet are widely renowned as one of the most influential and important watchmakers in the industry. With a truly remarkable history, Breguet’s timepieces often hark back to the classical period of watchmaking through a traditional aesthetic, and this ref. 3350 is no different. Launched in 1990 following 3 years of development, the ref. 3350 was the first ever tourbillon-touting wristwatch produced by Breguet, an interesting fact given their founder also created the tourbillon. It should also serve as no surprise given its aesthetic that the ref. 3350 was created under the guidance of master watchmaker Daniel Roth, whom would use the same aesthetic for his own eponymous timepieces. Housed within a 36mm 18kt yellow gold case, it features a polished domed bezel that swoops down to the midcase where it overhangs a coin-edge texture. Matching this level of exuberant detail, the ref. 3350’s stunning silver dial also features a beautiful blend of textures with a hobnail engraving in its center, concentrically-brushed chapter rings and a large cut-out that provides a complete view of its one-minute tourbillon. An elegantly styled timepiece, the ref. 3350 is undoubtedly Breguet in its styling. Powered by the cal. 558, it is manual-winding, and romantically enough, features a compensating Breguet overcoil too, just to top off this incredible celebration of Breguet’s influence on watchmaking.

THE DIAL
Made from solid silver and boasting an intricate guilloche pattern throughout, the ref. 3350's dial plays second fiddle to the cal. 558's incredible tourbillon, of which it shows in its entirety thanks to the bottom third of the dial being removed.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Typically Breguet in its construction, the ref. 3350 features a 36mm 18kt yellow gold case that takes direct inspiration from mid-century dress watches via its sizing and coin-edge textured midcase - all of which are signatures of Bregeut's aesthetic.

Our Perspective
Designed under the guidance of Daniel Roth to capture the Breguet aesthetic in wristwatch form, the ref. 3350 combines its coin-edge, Breguet hands, engine-turned guilloche dial and tourbillon to epitomise everything Bregeut has given modern watchmaking.
