Following Breitling’s collaboration with the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) to make the slide rule of its Chronomat even more relevant to pilots, the Navitimer was born as the ultimate pilot’s watch. Basically a hand-held computer, the Navitimer enabled pilots to quickly figure out fuel consumption rates, average speeds, convert between various scales, and much more. Offered here we have the Navitimer Heritage A13324 hailing from the late-2010s. Made of stainless steel and measuring 41mm in diameter and 14.4mm tall, it wears with a distinctly modern wrist presence, something that Breitling’s timepieces have been known and loved for over decades, but in a slightly toned-down fashion given its smaller stature in comparison to the Navitimer’s historical dimensions. Boasting a bright blue tri-compax dial with three matching blue subdials, a white chapter ring and punchy red accents that highlight the complexity of the Navitimer’s information dense dial, the A13324 is a Navitimer variant that merges the collection’s historical aesthetic with Breitling’s modern build quality and attention to detail that has powered their ascension to the peaks sports watchmaking that they currently occupy.
