Founded in 2022 by Nousseïma Baraket following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Buci Paris is a young French microbrand built entirely around the intersection of watchmaking and poetry, with each timepiece shipped alongside an engraved literary phrase on its interchangeable strap. To mark World Poetry Day on March 21, 2024, Buci collaborated with Romaric André, the artist behind seconde/seconde known throughout the industry for his irreverent "vandalism" of luxury watch dials, to create a one-off take on Buci's Garde-temps model. Rather than his usual approach of swapping in a colourful seconds hand, the pair instead built the collaboration around a single question central to Buci's own philosophy: what is poetry? The answer, a definition coined by André reading "poetry: bloodsport where a daring soul fiercely fights a blank paper," appears stamped onto the sapphire caseback, while the dial itself carries the literal illustration of that idea, a trail of dark ink bleeding down the paper-textured surface like blood from a wound. Limited to just 40 numbered pieces and finishing out the brand's first 300-piece production run, the watch retains the Garde-temps' 38mm stainless steel case, fountain-pen-nib hour markers, and Franco-Swiss Soprod Newton automatic movement, offered here on the collaboration's limited-edition tan leather strap.

Watch is in overall like-new condition. The case shows only light signs of wear or handling. Comes complete with boxes and paperwork.
