First launched in 1975 as a limited edition run of 100 pieces, the Bvlgari Bvlgari is a timepiece with exclusivity in its DNA. Introduced as a mainstay within Bvlgari’s offerings in 1977, the deceptively simple collection began to feature strong Italian design inspiration and grow with several unique variants featuring different dial types, strap combinations, case materials and so on. With an engraved double-branded bezel atop a round case forming its aesthetic anchor, the collection soon became synonymous with Bvlgari as a watchmaker and grew in importance. As such Bvlgari used the timepiece to grow their footprint across the world with the City Series, whereby a limited production of individually-numbered Bvlgari Roma examples were dedicated to cities across the world. Offered here we have 28 individually-sealed examples from the batch of 900 produced as part of the City Watch series. All unworn, these 28 timepieces feature a sleek blacked out plastic case with a matching black dial with golden inscriptions, hands and indices which go on to match its gold winding crown. A monochromatic masterpiece of design, the Bvlgari Roma has become one of the brand’s iconic pieces of design and this City Series pays homage to one of the world’s most iconic cities, quite the combination indeed.
