Introduction
Inspired by Gerald Genta’s genius like so many other incredible timepieces, the Bulgari Octo Roma takes direct inspiration from one of the legendary designer’s watches from his eponymous brand that he sold to Bulgari in 2000, the Bi-Retro. Sharing a similar silhouette to the Octo Finissimo but with gentler lines and a rounder shape, the Octo Roma wears a little more elegantly than its sportier sibling, a fact that plays into Bulgari’s sophisticated Italian heritage perfectly. Launched in 2012, after being designed by Bulgari’s Roman design department in 2004, the Octo Roma’s combination of its intricate construction and large legible dial create a timepiece that is unapologetically unique. Offered here, we have the Octo Roma ref. 102704 fitted with a stunning glossy black dial with Bulgari’s signature display details such as its Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock combined with applied indices throughout and skeletonized hands that are immediately recognizable on the wrist of anyone who wears the Octo Roma.

Condition
Watch is in near-mint overall condition. Case exhibits very minor wear including some cuff wear along the side of the case on the 9 o'clock side. Bracelet has been previously sized, but the removed links are included with the box.
Our Perspective
With a softer and more sophisticated aesthetic than its sportier sibling, the Octo Roma strikes a perfect balance between Genta's Bi-Retro, which inspired its design, and Bulgari's refined and sophisticated aesthetic that informed how Bulgari's Roman design department would execute that design.
