Introduction
Launched in 1921, two years after the original Cartier Tank debuted in 1919, the slim and elongated Tank Cintree has remained in the brand’s repertoire intermittently ever since its launch all those years ago. Typically offered as a limited edition offering irrespective of variant, the Cintree is a special watch. Manually wound and featuring a beautiful curved dial, case, and crystal, the Cintree sits perfectly on the wearer as it wraps around the curvature of the wrist. With exploding Roman numerals and Cartier's signature chemin de fer railroad-style minute track, this Cintree remains entirely grounded in Cartier's quintessential design language, as the French watchmaker has endeavored to do since the Cintree was launched over 100 years ago. This example also features French hallmarks on its case which indicate that the case was indeed made in France. Boasting a personal engraving on the bubble back caseback, designed to accommodate its movement, this Cintree is a living piece of history in more ways than just one.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Boasting a wonderfully wearable 18.5mm-wide 18kt yellow gold case bearing the French hallmark for 18kt yellow gold, indicating that this case was indeed made in France, this Cintree is not only tied to Cartier's Parisian heritage in spirit, but very much in body too.

Condition
The yellow gold case is in very good condition, with light scratches and a generally well-preserved case front and sides. The case back has some scratches and nicks around the edge, but the engravings and French hallmarks remain well-defined. The watch also features a personal engraving. The Paris-signed white Roman hours dial shows some discoloration around the edges, with marks visible at the bottom left edge and near three o'clock. The watch is fitted with a brown alligator strap and the original yellow gold Cartier deployant clasp. Strap is sized for an approx 6 3/4" wrist. The watch is accompanied by a Must de Cartier box.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
An iconic watch on account of its incredibly comfortable and distinctive design, the Cintree takes where the Tank left off with its rectangular case and elongates it, so it comfortably wraps around the wrist and provides the wearer with even more wrist presence than its sibling model.
