Introduction
Introduced in the 1970s and remaining in production until the '80s, the Cartier Cristallor is a wonderfully rare watch. With relatively low production quantities, the Cristallor has escaped the hype and hysteria that several of its sibling models have experienced in recent months. With serial numbers for most models within three digits of one another, it is understood that fewer than 1000 Cristallor models were produced, or at least not too many more than that. Featuring an octagonal case with a thick triple-stepped bezel that frames its white dial, the Cristallor stands as a beautiful example of Cartier’s uncanny ability to create some refreshingly unique designs that broke from the traditional norms of the time in which they were born. With hidden lugs and a relatively large 35 x 28 case, the Cristallor sits on the wrist with a contemporary poise that has certainly survived the test of time. This example exudes just about everything that a true Cartier purist would hope to see in a timepiece of the Cristallor’s unique and remarkable importance.

THE DIAL
With its eggshell white dial, black Roman numerals and blued steel hands, the Cristallor remains rooted in Cartier's design DNA, even with its case design deviating far from the Tank's traditional design.

THE CONSTRUCTION
With a thick tripled-stepped bezel, an exagerated octagonal shape, and hidden lugs, the Cristallor's large case sits on the wrist with a wonderfully unique poise.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. There are light surface marks visible, but the watch free from any major scratches or marks. Caseback hallmarks are crisp, well defined and fully legible. The original SWISS signed dial in near-mint condition showing little to no signs of wear. Watch comes on an original Cartier strap that is sized to fit a 7 1/4" wrist. The strap is fitted with a period original Cartier deployant buckle in 18k YG. Please note that the watch movement is ticking at the time of cataloging, but it keeps poor time and an overhaul is recommended.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
A fantastically rare and beautiful timepiece, the Cristallor is a great value proposition within the ranks of vintage Cartier given its comparative lack of attention.
