Introduction

Throughout the twentieth century, Cartier was one of the defining names in elegant dress watches, producing refined timepieces that blended Parisian design with exceptional Swiss watchmaking. During the post-war period, many of Cartier's wristwatches were manufactured by the European Watch & Clock Co., a long-standing partner responsible for producing some of the maison's most elegant and collectible references. These watches combined understated styling with outstanding craftsmanship, laying the foundations for Cartier's enduring reputation as one of the world's great watchmakers.

Offered here is a beautifully proportioned Cartier dress watch dating to the early 1950s. Crafted in 18K yellow gold and produced by the European Watch & Clock Co., it features a classic round case enhanced by an attractive Morellis-style textured bezel and case front, adding subtle depth and visual interest to an otherwise restrained design. Measuring 33.5mm, it remains an elegant example of mid-century Cartier, offering timeless styling that is as wearable today as it was more than seventy years ago.
