Introduction
Launched in 1937, the Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier was one of the most elegant and modern timepieces of its generation. Featuring its characteristic round profile, short downturned lugs, and large dial contrasting its thin flat bezel, the Ronde’s design was truly ahead of its time, considering just how modern and timeless its design has remained to this day. Often produced in limited edition runs, it has quickly become a Cartier collector favorite over the decades. Belonging to one of those limited edition runs, this ref. 2542B that we have here hails from Cartier's esteemed high-horology program that began in 1998 and ran until 2008, the Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP). As such, this example features some finer details that examples from outside of the CPCP lack, such as a wonderfully finished manual-wind cal. 430 MC movement on display behind a sapphire crystal caseback and an exquisitely decorated silver rosette guilloche dial with blued steel hands and black Roman numerals encircling a 24-hour scale. Sitting on a leather strap with a platinum Cartier folding clasp, this example is remarkably luxurious and understated as a result of its monochromatic aesthetic – a truly Cartier-esque combination indeed.

THE DIAL
Featuring the CPCP's signature rosette-shaped guilloched pattern, the Ronde ref. 2452B also sports concentrically-engraved chapter rings which contain its 24-hour scale, painted Roman numeral chapter ring and minute track.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Elegantly reserved like so many of Cartier's iconic designs, the ref. 2452B's 34mm platinum case wears close to the wrist thanks to its thin profile resulting from its manual-wind cal. 430 MC movement. Unlike most of Cartier's creations made in Switzerland, the 2452B was made in a special workshop in France, where the firm's finest creations are born.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in excellent condition. The case shows some surface wear and marks visible around the lugs and bezel surface. Strap is worn as shown. Please note that while the movement ticks at time of cataloging, it keeps poor time and a service is strongly recommended. This watch is being relisted due to a non-paying bidder.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Brilliantly elegant, impressively hefty, and entirely stunning, this CPCP Ronde Louis Cartier is a watch that can surprise even the most seasoned collectors by just how well-executed and beautiful it is in the metal.
