Over the course of their history, Cartier has developed an incredibly strong history as a revered watchmaker, with models like the Tank, Santos, Crash and many others earning their place within the horological spotlight. However, while these may be icons from a historical and design standpoint, they typically don’t feature a level of watchmaking that is all too impressive. As a result, Cartier launched the Rotonde de Cartier collection to showcase their horological talents, and this example, the Rotonde Power Reserve ref. W1556252 is no different. Made out of 18kt rose gold, its 40mm polished construction is immediately unique from Cartier’s typically svelte angular designs. Featuring a monochromatic aesthetic that is achieved through a striking shade of silver, the Rotonde Power Reserve’s dial is unique due to its centrally positioned date aperture at 12 o’clock and power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock that combine to create a perfectly symmetrical display that is immediately appealing, much like almost everything else that Cartier creates as the esteemed design powerhouse that they are. Furthmore, its dial also sports an intricate rosette guilloche pattern that has become a signature of Cartier.

A different kind of Cartier to what we expect from the famed French jeweller and watchmaker, the Rotonde Power Reserve is a visually distinct timepiece that still retains Cartier's signature details such as its silver guilloche engraved dial and accompanying details.
