Over the course of their history, Cartier has developed an incredibly strong history as a revered watchmaker, with models like the Tank, Santos, Crash and many others earning their place within the horological spotlight. However, while these may be icons from a historical and design standpoint, they typically don’t feature a level of watchmaking that is all too impressive. As a result, Cartier launched the Rotonde de Cartier collection to showcase their horological talents, and this example, the Rotonde de Cartier Chronograph ref. 3769 W1556239 is no different. Made as a limited edition of just 300 pieces and made of 18kt white gold, this 40mm beauty is immediately a disciple of Cartier’s school of design with its round case featuring a thin bezel with their signature sapphire cabochon poking out of its winding crown and its immediately recognisable dial design. Boasting Cartier’s trademark Roman numerals, the ref. 3769’s blue dial is unmistakable as one from the famed French Maison. Powered by Cartier’s very own automatic cal. 1904-CH MC movement, the ref. 3769 features two chronograph subdials, a 30-minute and 12-hour, and a date aperture that stands handsomely at 6 o’clock. Finished a stunning concentric guilloche engraving, the ref. 3769 is as distinctive as it is balanced and well-designed, a true piece of Cartier’s elegant watchmaking.
