Launched in the 1990s as a round version of the Cartier Santos, the Santos Ronde is perhaps the perfect blend of modernity and the Santos’ iconic design language as Cartier could have created. Round in shape, as its name suggests, the Santos Ronde still retains the Santos’ signature look with its polished screw-down bezel and screw-laden flat bracelet links. Made of 18kt yellow gold, 33mm in diameter and powered by a thin automatic movement, the Santos Ronde ref. 1900-1 is the epitome of Cartier as a watchmaker with its strong design a stunning example of the French Maison’s talents as a watch designer and jeweler. Boasting an off-white dial retaining all of Cartier’s signature design tenets such as its black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and railroad minute track, the Santos Ronde maintains the same timeless aesthetic as all of Cartier’s other offerings, and so even while it is a relatively new addition to Cartier’s storied offerings, it feels as old and classical as the rest of them.

Watch is in excellent overall condition. Case is very sharp, with only superficial marks and scratches visible. Case has developed a warm patina, with the gold taking on a very rich tone. Caseback engravings are crisp and deep. Watch comes on a bracelet wtih 22 links total. It fits a 7 1/2" wrist and shows negligible stretch. Please note that the movement ticks at time of cataloging, but it is keeping poor time and a service is recommended.
