Introduction
In 1917, Louis Cartier introduced the Tank- which has arguably become the brand's most iconic model. It is storied that the first prototype Tank was presented to the US General John Pershing a year later. Since then, Cartier has created many versions of the Tank design, including but not limited to, the Tank Louis, Tank Cintrée, and Tank Normale. The Tank Americaine was introduced in 1989 and immediately became a classic. Inspired by the lines of the Tank Cintrée, the Americaine features a slightly bolder and more athletic profile.

With its distinctive banana-shaped case and sapphire cabochon-set crown, the Tank Americaine has a distinctive presence on the wrist that adds to its iconic aesthetic.

Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The yellow gold case is in excellent condition, with light scratches on the surfaces. The case back has well-defined engravings and hallmarks, with some light wear to the screw heads. The guilloché dial is in near-mint condition, and the blued hands are very clean. The watch is fitted with a black crocodile leather strap in good condition, with a yellow gold deployant clasp in excellent condition. Comes with inner and outer boxes and a service receipt from 2023.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
