Introduction
Launched rather recently in 2012 as a completely new variant of the tried and tested Cartier Tank, the Anglaise was the latest addition to the country-named Tank variants such as the Americaine and Francaise, named after the countries where the three original Cartier houses were located. Boasting a curvy profile and a new hooded crown that is set within the case, the Anglaise is a unique design that adds a novel aesthetic to the Tank’s timeless design. Made of 18kt yellow gold and offered on a leather strap, the ref. 3505 that we have here features a stunning silver dial with a rosette guilloche engraved pattern alongside Cartier signature dial desgn details such as black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and a railroad-style minute track.

THE DIAL
Boasting a stunning silver dial with a beautiful rosette guilloche engraving and all of Cartier's signature design elements, this timepiece encompasses everything the famed French jeweler and watchmaker stands for.
THE CONSTRUCTION
With its slightly unusual design coming from its shielded crown, curvy shape and larger dimensions than the Tank is typically known for, the Anglaise packs a significant presence on the wrist that no other Tank reference can replicate.

Condition
Watch is in near-mint condition, with only gentle signs of wear visible. Watch was overhauled by Cartier in Jan of 2024.

Our Perspective
A beautiful exploration of how the Tank can be iterated upon, the Anglaise uses a curvy profile and its unusual hooded crown to showcase how the Tank can provide a new wearing experience with some relatively small changes that go on to have a large impact on the watch's aesthetics.
