Introduction
Introduced in the early 1980s following the success of Cartier’s collaboration with Dupont on a collection of co-branded lighters that ended up securing Cartier’s financial future, the Tank Must de Cartier collection was a diffusion line that leveraged the Cartier Tank’s iconic silhouette and Cartier’s legendary branding in a more affordable package so as to offer customers the same look as before but at a more palatable price tag. Founded on the basis of the very same principles, the Tank Solo collection was launched in the early 2000s to step into the Tank Must de Cartier’s shoes as an affordable everyday timepiece that still honored the Tank’s iconic aesthetic. Featuring the Tank’s signature dial design and layout, the Tank Solo’s main tell is the branchards that travel along each side of its case sit flatter than on other Tank models. Predominately powered by quartz movements to keep their costs down, the Tank Solo has remained an ever-popular Cartier model given its successful leveraging of the Tank’s iconic design and its affordable price point. However, powered by an automatic movement, the ref. 3515 that we have here combines the Tank Solo's silhouette with the increased prowess associated with mechanical watchmaking.

THE DIAL
Boasting the Tank's signature dial design, the Tank Solo features black Roman numerals, blued steel hands and a railroad style minute track just like the plethora of Tank models that have come before it.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Maintaining the Tank's iconic silhouette, the Tank Solo fits on the wrist with a familiar poise for Cartier collectors. Its rectangular profile and sapphire-capped cabochon fill the wrist just as they have for over a century now.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in near-mint condition with only minor signs of wear. Strap is currently sized for a 6 1/2" wrist.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
An intelligent expansion of the Tank's iconic design, the Tank Solo democratizes the Tank thanks to its steel construction and quartz movement in just the same way that the Tank Must de Cartier did during the 1980s and beyond.
