Introduction
Steeped in Chaumet's illustrious heritage as one of the world's best jewelers, the Chaumet Power Reserve 12A epitomizes timeless elegance and innovative design. Crafted from 18k yellow, this masterpiece, introduced in the early 1990s, captivates through the use of a distinctive 36mm wide flying saucer-like case that is immediately reminiscent of the Cartier Pebble. Its sleek, polished finish and hidden lugs exude sophistication and elegance, while its white and blue-accented dial gives the watch a casual sense of design. Powered by the base ETA cal. 2892-2, which is on display behind an exhibition caseback, the 12A boasts a useful 48-hour retrograde power reserve indicator that gives its display a nice touch. Its golden Chaumet-signed rotor, well-finished construction, and unique winding crown reflect the brand's commitment to excellence in craftsmanship.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Filling the wrist with its powerful poise, the 12A's 18kt yellow gold saucer-shaped case manages to wear larger than one might assume on the basis of its lug-less design thanks to its rather sizeable 36mm diameter.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.

THE DIAL
Sporting blue inscriptions atop a white dial, the 12A's recessed retrograde power reserve indicator at 6 o'clock is delicately balanced by Chaumet's branding and a single Roman numeral at 12 o'clock.
Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. Case shows light surface wear, with some surface marks visible. Caseback shows a warm surface oxidation, but all the engravings are crisp and visible. The watch comes on a generic strap with a generic gold-plated buckle.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
A stylish watch aesthetically rooted in Chaumet's sense of fashion and blended with some unique watchmaking, the 12A is an intriguing offering thanks to its clean dial, interesting complication, and unique saucer-shaped construction.
