Introduction
Launched in 1996, Chopard’s L.U.C. segment (named after Chopard's founder) was set up to commemorate Chopard's heritage as a high-precision movement manufacturer. Perhaps the ultimate expression of Chopard's watchmaking prowess, watches produced by L.U.C. include some of the most laboriously produced movements to come from Switzerland. The processes used to produce these movements include delicate hand finishing, accurate assembly, tedious testing, and careful casing. In 2004, Chopard and Parmigiani Fleurier even came together to create a certification to attest that 100% of a watch head was made in Switzerland, an attempt to combat the Swiss Government's lackluster definition of "Swiss Made” whereby only 60% of the value of a watch has to come from Switzerland.
Ever since its inception, Chopard’s L.U.C. timepieces have become celebrated pieces of horology, and this limited edition L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Twist Carbon All Black Edition of only 25 individually-numbered pieces is no different with its incredible movement and futuristic blacked-out carbon composite 42nn case. Placing second in the tourbillon category of the Concours International de Chronométrie 2011 (International Chronometry Competition), this timepiece’s manual-wind cal. L.U.C. 02. 11-L movement exhibits an incredible level of finishing throughout its surfaces, and powers an aesthetically-rich blacked-out dial with a power reserve indicator, a tourbillon, various skeletonized components and blued steel hands for the time. A unique combination of Chopard’s classical watchmaking talents and a vibrant avant garde design language represented through unusual materials, this timepiece is the best of both worlds.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Made of a forged carbon composite, the Tourbillon Tech Twist's 42mm case serves as the perfect housing for its immaculately finished haute horologerie movement and semi-skeletonized display.

Condition
The watch is in near-mint condition. The case shows some superficial signs of wear, with a few marks on the sapphire display case back and minor wear to the screw heads. The dial and hands are near-mint. It is currently fitted with a white strap and black pin buckle, both in near-mint condition. The watch is also accompanied by a used black carbon-fibre effect strap and a black alligator strap.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
