Introduction
Founded in 2004 by Mike France, Peter Ellis and Chris Ward, Christopher Ward is an English watchmaker that built its reputation on a direct-to-consumer model that removed the traditional retail markup baked into most of Swiss watchmaking, delivering finishing and mechanics that punch well above their price point. Launched in 2021, the C63 Sealander was conceived as the brand's "go-anywhere, do-anything" sports watch, with a clean and capable style that draws clear inspiration from industry-leading sports watches while carving out its own identity through its “lighter-catch” case construction. Offered here we a corporate commission built on that platform for ATI Inc., commemorating the company's contribution to NASA's Artemis II mission. ATI's Forged Products facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin manufactured critical hardware for the mission's rocket boosters, including seamless forged rings produced without a weld line to eliminate any point of structural weakness from specialty steel and aluminum alloys capable of withstanding extreme heat and stress. Made of stainless steel and measuring 39mm in diameter, this Sealander is powered by the automatic Sellita cal. SW200-2 movement and rated to 150m water resistance. Its caseback sports a bespoke engraving of a rocket booster alongside the inscription "Proven to Perform" and "ATI 2024," marking the timepiece as a tangible artefact of the company's part in one of the century's most significant aerospace undertakings.
