Introduction
Founded by Gerd-Rüdiger Lang in 1983, Chronoswiss built its identity around bringing traditional mechanical watchmaking back into focus at a time when much of the industry was still recovering from the Quartz Crisis. The Chronoscope is a particularly distinctive expression of that philosophy, combining the regulator-style display that became a Chronoswiss signature with a mechanical chronograph controlled through a single pusher. Rather than adopting a conventional chronograph layout, it integrates the complication into the vertically arranged regulator architecture, creating something immediately recognisable as Chronoswiss.
This CH 1521-R-LTD is an especially appealing version, combining a 38mm 18K red gold case with a cream lacquered dial and blued steel poire hands. The dial's fine 360-part scale allows the chronograph seconds to be read in sixths of a second, while the hours occupy the register at 12 and running seconds sit at six. Inside is the automatic calibre C.125, developed from the C.122 architecture and incorporating a column-wheel chronograph operated by a single pusher integrated into the characteristic onion crown. The model was limited to just 99 pieces.

THE DIAL
The cream lacquered dial combines Chronoswiss's regulator architecture with the chronograph indication in an unusually cohesive layout. Hours are displayed in the subsidiary register at 12 o'clock, with running seconds at six, while the central chronograph hand works against a finely graduated 360-part scale. Blued steel poire hands provide a traditional contrast against the warm dial.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Measuring 38mm in diameter and approximately 12mm thick, the 18K rose gold case combines traditional Chronoswiss signatures with unusually restrained proportions. The prominent onion crown incorporates the monopusher chronograph control, while a sapphire crystal protects the dial and an exhibition case back reveals the calibre C.125.

Condition
Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The 18K rose gold case shows light signs of careful wear. All hallmarks remain crisp. There is some light rubbing to the edge of the beaded bezel. The dial and hands are in near-mint condition. It is fitted with a leather strap and 18K rose gold pin buckle showing light signs of wear. Comes with inner and outer boxes, guarantee, papers, and hangtag.
Our Perspective
The Chronoscope is a reminder of what made early Chronoswiss so interesting. Instead of simply recreating historic watches, the company combined recognisably traditional elements, regulator displays, poire hands, onion crowns and classical casework, in decidedly unconventional ways. Adding a column-wheel monopusher chronograph to that formula makes the Chronoscope particularly compelling, while the 38mm rose gold case and production of just 99 pieces give this version an especially attractive combination of proportion, complexity and rarity.
