Founded in 1955, Corum are a watchmaker famed for their unique outlook on horological design, with collections such as the Coin and Bubble both standing as aesthetically unique and interesting. However, while Corum does create some off-the-wall timepieces, some of their collections can be beautifully restrained and classical, much like this La Grande Vie. Launched in 2018, the La Grande Vie slots within Corum’s Heritage collection with its large 42mm round titanium case boasting elegant tapered lugs and a thin bezel. However, while its construction is undoubtedly elegant, its sunburst dial is profoundly so, with minimalist branding, beautiful typography, applied stick indices, and skeleton dauphine hands. The example we have here boasts a stunning grey dial with a lighter center and darker periphery. Thanks to its variety of grey hues, this dial pairs beautifully with the grey color of its titanium construction which results in a monochromatic aesthetic that is a true delight on the wrist.
