Introduction
Credor occupies a distinctive position within Japanese watchmaking. Established by Seiko in 1974 as a collection focused on precious metals and elevated craftsmanship, it has evolved into a showcase for some of the group's most accomplished artisanal watchmaking. Few watches demonstrate that philosophy better than the Eichi II. Introduced in 2014 as the successor to the original Eichi and produced by the Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri, it deliberately reduces the wristwatch to its essentials, placing extraordinary emphasis on the execution of apparently simple details.
This example is the rose gold GBLT998, a version introduced in 2018. Its 39mm 18K rose gold case surrounds a white porcelain dial produced with Noritake and individually hand-painted with blue indexes and the Credor signature, paired with tempered blue steel hands. The same philosophy extends to the manually wound Spring Drive calibre 7R14 visible through the case back, where broad bridges, hand-polished bevels and a discreet power-reserve indication turn the movement into the decorative counterpoint to the restrained dial. With production constrained by the labour-intensive methods of the Micro Artist Studio, the Eichi II has become one of the most highly regarded expressions of contemporary Japanese haute horlogerie.

THE DIAL
The deceptively simple white porcelain dial is one of the Eichi II's defining achievements. Produced with Noritake, each dial is individually hand-painted at the Micro Artist Studio, including the blue hour indexes and Credor signature. Tempered blue steel hands provide the only other colour, creating a display whose apparent simplicity belies the considerable handwork involved.
THE CONSTRUCTION
The 39mm case is executed in 18K rose gold and measures just 10.3mm thick. Its restrained form deliberately avoids competing with the dial or movement, instead relying on beautifully polished surfaces and carefully judged proportions. A sapphire display case back provides an uninterrupted view of the calibre 7R14 and the extensive hand finishing undertaken at the Micro Artist Studio.
THE MOVEMENT
The manually wound Spring Drive calibre 7R14 combines Spring Drive regulation with exceptional hand finishing. Its architecture is dominated by broad bridges with brushed surfaces and polished bevels, complemented by blued screws and a power-reserve indicator positioned on the movement side rather than the dial. It provides approximately 60 hours of power reserve.
Condition
Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The 18K rose gold case shows light signs of careful wear, most noticeably around the edge of the display case back. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a black leather strap and an 18K rose gold deployant clasp showing light surface marks. Comes with box, booklet, hangtag, and spare strap. PLEASE NOTE that there is no original guarantee certificate included with the watch.

Our Perspective
The Eichi II demonstrates how compelling simplicity becomes when virtually every visible element has been considered and executed by hand. There is nowhere for mediocre finishing to hide, yet the watch never feels as though it is trying to demonstrate its complexity. The GBLT998 adds the warmth of rose gold to that formula without disturbing its restraint, making it one of the most elegant expressions of the Micro Artist Studio's distinctive approach to watchmaking.
