Introduction
Launching in 2002, De Bethune has burst onto the watchmaking scene with hi-tech materials, innovative movements and stunning avant-garde designs that have enabled them to quickly become one of the most distinctive watchmakers in the industry. Founded by THA founders Denis Flageollet and David Zanetta, the idea for De Bethune was that it would be a true watch manufacture, something De Bethune has undoubtedly achieved with their models that encompass almost every facet of horology. Recognised as one of the most important indie watchmakers of recent times, De Bethune have created a powerful sense of self as they forge on with their own unique aesthetic and style. Carrying that aesthetic in abundance is the DB24 Vetrois ref. DB24TIS1Z in titanium that we have here. Boasting a remarkable focus on ergonomics, finishing and raw craftsmanship, the DB24 Vetrois was launched in 2008 as a model that broke from the brand’s established aesthetic in a unique way thanks to its enlarged 48mm case, fixed flared lugs, fired blue and media blasted titanium bezel (complete with visible screws) as they sought to establish what a De Bethune sports watch would look like.

THE DIAL
Featuring an incredible grey dial that is full of depth and its grille-style power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock, the DB24's display is a wonderful example of De Bethune's avant-garde take on even the simplest of horological concepts.
THE CONSTRUCTION
While lacking the articulating lugs that De Bethune are known for, the DB24 was created to see what a De Bethune sports watch would look like, and so its tapered fixed lugs and exposed-screw bezel combine with its large 48mm titanium case to create a wonderfully robust and sporty construction.
