Introduction
Launched in 2020 Dutch watchmakers De Rijke as part of their driving-inspired collection, the Amalfi Series answers the question on what a driving-inspired watch would look like if it built from the ground up as a driver’s watch and not just decorated with driving motifs such as a steering wheel-shaped winding rotor. As such, it combines a Bauhaus-inspired design language that is communicated through a 38mm stainless steel case with small lugs and a thin understated bezel that contains a large rotatable dial (to give its wearer the option of wearing it as a normal watch or a driver’s watch) that is rotated via the crown at 10 o’clock. Offered as a Unique Piece, this example swaps the collection’s traditional white dial for a grained texture silver dial with applied Arabic numerals that combine to give the watch an aesthetic edge against is regular production counterparts.

THE DIAL
Featuring a silver dial with a grained texture, this piece unique is tremendously different to its white dialled siblings, especially when its applied Arabic numerals are taken into account.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring an understated 38mm stainless steel case, the Amalfi 1S' party trick is that its dial can rotate thanks to its crown found at 11 o'clock.

Condition
Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case shows signs of careful wear. The display case back retains well-defined engravings, with some wear visible to the screw heads. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a black leather strap and a steel pin buckle showing light scuffs. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes and instruction booklet.
