Introduction
Launched in the 1960s and only produced for around ten years, the Eberhard Contograf is a diving-inspired chronograph that retains aspects of its mid-century design period while also featuring a rather modern 39mm diameter. Made of stainless steel, this Contograf sports pump-style chronograph pushers, a rotating bezel with a black plastic insert, and a matching black panda dial with a bi-compax chronograph layout, a date aperture at 6 o’clock, and dauphine hands that fit in with its fellow mid-century designs. A large watch by vintage standards, the Contograf is perfectly suited to modern sizing standards, with its 39mm diameter sitting nicely on the wrist, and its modestly-sized 14mm height, enabled by its in-house manual-wind movement, coupling to create a timepiece that has all of the aspects required for a vintage fit, feel and flair while also containing a modern sense of style that will allow collectors to effortlessly add this piece into their collection and enjoy it as it deserves.

Condition
Watch is in overall good condition. The case exhibits moderate wear, and the bezel insert is an aftermarket replacement. The engravings on the caseback have been polished off at some point in the watch's life. The dial is original but has wear and a damage along the edges, predominantly at the 8 o'clock area. There is some oxidation also visible in the subdials .
Our Perspective
A rare sports watch, made for only around 10 years, the Contograf combines the asthetics of the Submariner and Daytona into one. Rarely seen on the market, the Contograf represents a very rare vintage chronograph.
