Founded as a movement manufacturer in the small watchmaking village of St. Imier in 1866, Excelsior Park is a storied watchmaker with a long history in mechanical excellence. Having developed a name for themselves in the arena of chronographs and other instruments, Excelsior Park continued to build upon their reputation into the 1920s whereby they supplied movements to the likes of Zenith, Girard Perregaux, Gallet and others. By the mid-century the brand had expanded into wristwatches of their own until the brand succumbed to the Quartz Crisis. However, in 2020 the brand was revived and began producing timepieces with a general historic flair inspired by the decades in which Excelsior Park produced their own watches, like their collab with Dubai-based retailer Perpétuel. Launched in 2023 as a limited edition collection of just 50 pieces and inspired by the 1940s, this collaboration piece features a 38.9mm stainless steel case and a blue turquoise dial with steel hands, applied Eastern-Arabic numerals and a bicompax chronograph display with concentric guilloche engravings that stand out against the vertical brushed backdrop of the timepiece’s dial. A wonderful tribute to horology, this stunning timepiece showcases the incredible strength of mid-century watchmaking design and the power of thoughtful collaboration.
