Felipe Pikullik HTH Frosted Dial Stainless Steel

How do I bid? Start here

Introduction

Rising within the ranks of independent watchmakers, Felipe Pikullik is a young German watchmaker based in Berlin who boasts uncompromising attention to detail and exercises immaculate finishing throughout his timepieces. Offered here we have the HTH ‘Homage to Harrison’, Pukullik’s very first watch with a classical design. Inspired by early English pioneer John Harrison, the inventor of the marine chronometer, the HTH features a classical construction design with angular lugs, a slim bezel and a wonderfully executed dial that sits atop a stunningly well-finished manual-wind movement. Sporting a frosted non-lacquered brass dial, the HTH’s display’s texture is created using sandblasting, resulting in a grainy texture with black rhodium plating. Offered with either Eastern Arabic, Breguet, Roman, Hebrew or Chinese numerals, the HTH’s display is up to its original buyer, with our example here featuring Breguet-style Arabic numerals that add to its design and further enshrine this stunning timepiece with a classical aesthetic.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

Sandblasted to give it a textured finish, the HTH's dial is a stunning exhibition in the idea that less is more. With Breguet numerals, this example's display feeds perfectly into the HTH's classical design language.

THE CONSTRUCTION
THE CONSTRUCTION

Created using classical design language for the first time within Pikullik's time as an indie watchmaker, the HTH's 41mm construction sports a number of classical design tenets, such as its thin bezel, angular lugs, and manual-wind movement.

Our Perspective

The arena of indie watchmaking has always been competitive, but with watchmakers like Felipe Pikullik and others creating watches like the HTH, it is hard to think independent watchmaking isn't currently the strongest it has ever been.
