Introduction
Founded in 1992 by Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes and known as the "Master of Complications," Franck Muller, the brand, has grown to become synonymous with complex microengineering, original whacky designs, and incredible attention to detail. Famed for revitalizing the independent watchmaking industry in the 1990s with his complications and unique designs, Franck Muller proved to be an influential watchmaker who quickly developed a fanbase attracted to his distinct aesthetic. While tonneau-shaped cases and colorful dials dominate Franck Muller's modern aesthetic, their earlier watches were more traditional round timepieces that featured somewhat classic design motifs, much like this Franck Muller Chronograph ref. 7000CC B, which draws inspiration from those earlier years of the brand and the vintage era of watchmaking as a whole with its black display featuring two retrograde dials for its chronograph functions in lieu of two traditional subdials. An interesting dial design with a round 41mm stainless steel case and studded lugs, the ref. 7000CC B embodies the very essence of what made Franck Muller’s designs so famous in a time where so many watchmakers were afraid to break convention and thus enabling the brand to occupy an important position within today’s market due to the contribution it has made to the industry as a whole. Featuring a coin-edge midcase and screw bars to hold its leather strap in place, this stainless steel timepiece is a stunning reinterpretation of the timepieces of old whereby it successfully blends a luxurious construction with a tasteful hat-tip to the watches that made its creation possible.

THE DIAL
Featuring a black and white dial with blued steel hands and red accents, the ref. 7000CC B features two retrograde subdials, with the 9 o'clock side being the running seconds hand and the 3 o'clock side being the chronograph's 30-minute counter.

THE CONSTRUCTION
With its coin-edge bezel midcase, studded lugs and thick satin-brushed bezel, the 41mm ref. 7000CC B feeds into both; the large watch trend that dominated the early 2000s and the mid-century aesthetic that it was inspired by.

Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. There are scratches and marks visible along the case, including small dings visible on the edge of the bezel and caseback along the coin edge mid-case.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
A uniquely designed timepiece that showcases Franck Muller's aesthetic creativity, the Bi-Retro Chronograph is a wonderful example of just how different independent watchmakers will make their timepieces in an effort to stand out from the crowd.
