Central to that identity was the Cintrée Curvex case, whose dramatically curved tonneau form became synonymous with the manufacture. The Casablanca collection embraced this architecture with particularly bold dials and oversized numerals, while the Master Calendar added useful complications without sacrificing the visual confidence that made early Franck Muller watches so immediately recognisable.

Dating to 2006, this ref. 5850 Q 24 combines a silvered dial with a centrally indicated date and a 24-hour day/night display at six o'clock, powered by the automatic calibre 2800. This example is particularly striking in 18K yellow gold, with the sculptural case paired with a matching five-link yellow gold bracelet rather than the leather strap more frequently encountered on the reference. The case back is individually engraved No. 24, adding another interesting detail to an already distinctive configuration.
