Introduction
Founded in 1992 by Franck Muller and Vartan Sirmakes and known as the "Master of Complications," Franck Muller, the brand, has grown to become synonymous with complex microengineering, original whacky designs, and incredible attention to detail. Famed for revitalizing the independent watchmaking industry in the 1990s with his complications and unique designs, Franck Muller proved to be an influential watchmaker who quickly developed a fanbase attracted to his distinct aesthetic. While tonneau-shaped cases and colorful dials dominate Franck Muller's modern aesthetic, their earlier watches were more traditional round timepieces that featured somewhat classic design motifs. As such, to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary, Wei Koh’s Grail Watch, has collaborated with Franck Muller to create three timepieces each inspired by the brand’s original aesthetic and horological mission. Offered here we have the second of those three offerings, the Grail Watch 2 ref. END 39 CC2 , with a 39mm stainless steel construction, a manual-wind new-old stock movement and a mid-century-inspired silver dial with applied Breguet numerals at 12 and 6, a bicompax subdial layout and the choice between a sapphire crystal exhibition or solid caseback just like the mid-century timepieces that have inspired this model.
