Introduction
Founded in 1791 and best known for their fine watches, Girard Perregaux are one of the oldest watchmakers in the world that are still in operation. Over the many decades of their long-running history, Girard-Perregaux has become synonymous with interesting design, impressive craftsmanship, and beautiful timepieces just like this 1945 Vintage Tourbillon ref. 9985. Made of platinum, the ref. 9985’s curved rectangular case features unique lugs that meet a border that wraps from the front of the case to the rear and builds on the depth of the construction in addition to the case’s stepped bezel. Featuring a navy blue dial with applied numerals at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock, the ref. 9985’s signature Girard Perregaux tourbillon bridge shines brightly in rose gold as it acts to finalize an intensely ‘if you know you know’ type of watch whereby the material used is inherently subtle, and the complication is one that only fellow watch enthusiasts would understand the complexity of.

THE DIAL

THE CONSTRUCTION
Using uniquely shaped lugs, curved profile and a stepped bezel, the ref. 9985's platinum rectangular construction is more unique than one might initially assume.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in very good overall condition. Case show some wear, with various scratches and marks visible on the lugs and around the bezel. The caseback engravings are fully legible but show some light signs of wear. The top of the crown has discolored as seen in the images. Please note that while the watch runs, it is keeping poor time and a service is recommended.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Featuring their iconic tourbillon bridge along with its stylish platinum construction, the ref. 9985 showcases the impressive breadth of Girard Perregaux's talents as a watchmaker.
