Introduction
First created in 1975 hot on the heels of the AP Royal Oak, the Girard Perregaux Laureato is one of watchmaking’s original stainless steel sports watches. Today, its legacy lives on with its consistent design language and GP’s high-end craftsmanship. Launched in 2018 at SIHH as an 18k rose gold variant of the iconic watch, the Laureato Flying Tourbillon ref. 99110-52-000-52A blends the utmost in horological engineering with modern movement design to create a timepiece that stands out in more ways than one. Constructed from 18kt rose gold, its 42mm case features an integrated bracelet that has proven to be timeless. Sporting a monochromatic design alongside a mix of polished and brushed surfaces, the ref. 99110 is a beautifully luxurious design. With its openworked dial exposing its cal. GP09520 movement, the ref. 99110 displays an array of anthracite bridges and a contrasting rhodium-plated gear train that both match and juxtapose its rose gold construction perfectly to enable optimal legibility.

Our Perspective
One of the earliest entrants into the high-end sports watch market, the Laureato has long been ignored by collectors in favor of other household names. However, it has developed a strong fanbase in recent years, with collectors beginning to flock to this interesting and historic watch as they understand the value this beautiful timepiece represents in today's market.
